Projects That Create Connections

LINX develops and delivers projects that create connections between companies, research, and Business Support, with a focus on materials knowledge and the materials field in general.

These projects provide a framework for collaboration, where new knowledge, technologies, and methods are translated into practice. At the same time, they provide an opportunity to develop and test the forms of collaboration and working methods we use across organizations, disciplines, and different needs.

What all our projects have in common is a focus on materials science, the green transition, and strengthening Danish competitiveness through collaboration, relationships, and application-oriented knowledge.

Current Projects

Innovation in Practice

Motorvej for Materialeviden

‘Motorvej for Materialeviden’ (Motorway for Material Knowledge) works to make advanced materials knowledge more accessible and applicable for small and medium-sized companies, while making knowledge-based collaboration with companies more accessible for researchers and experts.

The project creates connections between companies, research environments, specialists, and Business Support actors. It helps companies understand and apply materials knowledge to their specific challenges and opportunities, while helping researchers identify new potential collaboration partners.

Through practice-based programs and by addressing individual development needs, the project aims to strengthen innovation, the green transition, and the development of new solutions and materials.

Secretariat for the Business Use of Research Infrastructures

LINX works to strengthen companies’ access to and use of large-scale research facilities for materials diagnostics. These include infrastructures such as MAX IV in Sweden, the European Spallation Source, and DESY in Germany.

The project focuses on how knowledge of materials and specialized analytical methods that use X-ray and neutron radiation can go hand in hand and be better aligned with the needs and practices of Danish companies.

The project also works to create better conditions for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and the application of advanced materials diagnostics across the wider materials field. In Denmark, there is a strong ambition to equip companies with the knowledge and capabilities needed to better understand challenges related to their products, production etc. – including problems that can only be identified and solved using the advanced analytical techniques made available by large research facilities.

Previous Projects

Experiences We Continue to Build On

Our previous projects form an important part of the experience and methods that continue to shape our work today. Through these projects, we have built knowledge, collaboration, and practical experience in materials knowledge, the green transition, and cross-sector collaboration between companies, research and Business Support.

De Biogene Byggevejledninger

The project ‘De Biogene Byggevejledninger’ focused on developing and strengthening technical knowledge of bio-based construction materials, translating it into practical building guides. The project also aimed to expand the existing knowledge and practical foundation – known as “technical common property” – for green construction.

The project brought together actors from research, the construction sector, and professional practice in a collaborative network focused on developing and testing new approaches to practice-based knowledge development and collaboration.

Through dialogue, testing, and joint development, materials knowledge was translated into practical building guides and concrete working models. At the same time, the project worked to increase awareness of the guides through Denmark’s local Business Support System.

The project focused on:

  • Practice-based knowledge exchange
  • Consensus models
  • Communities of practice
  • Bio-based materials
  • Cross-sector collaboration between research and practice

The experience and the methods developed through the project continue to form an important part of the professional and methodological foundation on which we continue to build our work.
